Also looks pretty good, wish I'd seen them for that price when I got my Tacxx tbh

  • bimmm the lightest profiled rim on the lightest large flanges hub
    W Profil A

    aero hidden lock nut

  • Oh, not bad... so what rims/hubs/spokes?

    :)

  • Wolber profil A, Annular bearing Pelissier 2000 and 1,8 no name spokes

  • Yikes, 286g rims!

  • 286g rims!

It says 276 on Velobase. I think @umop3pisdn has a Fiamme Ergal on his HC bike which is about the same weight. My dad had Scheeren Weltmeisters back in the day which were also around the 280g area. All very attractive to weight weenies, but if you want to go fast you're much better off with a heavier rim which will stay straight with a smaller number of spokes :-)

  • My WW alu collection:

    Wolber profile A 32T 276g

mavic record du monde de l'heure 278 g

    Mavic GEL 280 32T boyau : 280Gr

  • That's nice dear. I'm in my 40s and DNGAF about shit 80's rims so plz bin the fake nostalgia

  • I'm in my 40s and DNGAF about shit 80's rims

@umop3pisdn is in his 20s and does, go figure. In the wheel building thread, they are interesting, albeit mainly to show why rims are so heavy these days.

  • There are two redundant letters on the wheel decal, it should say SHAM :-)

  • héhé

  • So, some Crabon rims hit those very low weights.

Are they better in the not going out of true/busting than old alu megalow weight?

  • Of course they're better, but they're made out of a much more advance material. Old alu tub rims are impressive feats of engineering, but then they've had many more years of development than carbon has.

Bit like the derailleur, it's incredibly refined whilst hub gears/internal gears are still playing catchup.

  • Bit like the derailleur, it's incredibly refined whilst hub gears/internal gears are still playing catchup.

    lol

In terms of popular adoption, the hub gear has had longer to get it right, and AFAIK the epicyclic gear box is actually an older invention than the roller chain.

  • Bottom Bracket gears are perhaps playing catchup, but only as materials have improved, there are 14 (or more) speeds now. Old ones (over a 100 years ago) were 3 speed I believe.

But then nothing is new atm bar e-shifting and I would love another thing that can run out of battery, please.

  • This sounds like a call to a list, inb4 di2 thread...

    Electrics brakes
    Electrics power steering assist
    Electricsmagnetics bearings
    Electrics tyre pressure monitoring
    Electrics disc brake pad monitoring
    Kinetic Energy Recovery System
    Dynamic Drag Reduction System
Brake Rotor and Tyre Surface Temperature Monitoring and Alarm
Electric Automatic EPO Injection...for saddle sores, amirite?

I'm sure I could come up with more useless gadgetery.

  • Electric extensible chain lock to hit window mirrors
Electric flamethrowers when cars come too close
    Electric middle finger

    :p

  • Electric bottom bracket motor? Nahhhh too silly. No one would invent something so far fetched.

  • It says 276 on Velobase

    I got fat fingers.

  • Hahaha :)

No, that would never take off. Like team cars doing slow handovers n stuff...
    :p

  • not a SHAM a SHAMAL'
    Sham 30H X DA

  • Shamal drilled for extra spokes?
