Thing with 650b, that both 26" and 700c actually fit.

700c 45mm will fit, as well as the bigger 26" (from 55mm) also fit.

Diameter of a 42mm 650b tyres is actually nearly identical to a 23mm 700c wheels, hence why the 700c mudguard can fit (as long it's 45mm or more)
