  • Not @hippy but Mehdi Ouaja the fixed cycle courier.

  • I'll be there, but I think that have more kms... something like 3.800 and 52.000m to climb

  • So who got in this year?

  • Just found out I got a place

  • I also got a place

  • Congrats' folks

  • Hi folks ! I'm glad to see people from here getting in, I wonder if someone is going fixed here ? This year i'm aiming for the rank so not taking my daily bike (if i still had, got it stolen 2 weeks ago fml), I wonder how @skinny will progress from now he's pro. I'm really excited to participate at this one, the race is even more difficult, and concurrent will be stronger than before.

  • Skinny's pro? Nice! Congrats all who got in. Last years thread was one of the threads of the year..

  • Oh look, I started this thread too. Happy @skinny ? :P

40% discount on Sinewave for TCR racers:
    http://www.sinewavecycles.com/

  • Yeah good deal that. Very happy with mine. But that D1 did look interesting.

  • Yeah, I've got a PlugIII already. Might buy both and test them all out.

  • If in doubt, but it all.

  • I've read bad experiences with the PlugIII, none about the Sinewave Revolution, some about the Sinewave Reactor, but d1 stopped me in my way to buy a Revo...

  • Got links to PlugIII issues? Heard of problems with the earlier versions, spoken to a few people now who've been using the III and only had positives about it so far...

  • Dibs the PlugIII if you sell :P

You still want photos of that Ortlieb bag? Not selling anymore though, partner booked holiday and no checked luggage so will probably need it for that

  • Nah, I'm using the smaller bag and it's fine for now. I have a couple of PACs for bigger loads if need be.

  • I don't have link but remember two or more threads about dynamo charging in the TCR Facebook Group, reporting issues about many (PlugIII, Luxos U... but none about Revolution) If you want to find them, I think there where wrote about 6-8months ago

  • Have you thought about a datum for this hippy?

  • Kinesis ftw

  • Spring update:

As promised we have reviewed the entry list in early April with regards to whether we can accept more entries ahead of publishing the entry list.

Through experience we anticipate some withdrawals and have made the original allocation accordingly. At this time we have not had enough withdrawals to allow us to open a second round of entries.

The Spring update of the Rider Manual is on its way (this will be issue 1) which will contain more detailed information on the parcours. There will be no large changes to control locations, only some local variation and further definition in parcours and control point location, which means riders can continue to plan with the controls as specified.

    The main control news:

It is looking more certain that the climb to the top of the Puy de Dôme is not possible. This is indeed a shame for the climb baggers but will relieve riders of a few hundred meters more ascent. The parcours will be revised to summit at the Col de Ceyssat in its place, which is 1km away and 386m lower, at the foot of the final cone.

The update will also include approval to use roads on the Anatolian side of the Dardanelles into the finish from Lapseki and Çardak allowing crossings further up the Gallipoli peninsula.

Start time is confirmed at 22:00 local time in Geraardsbergen. The starting procedures will take place in the Market Place with a neutralised circuit before climbing the Muur.

    Volunteers:

Thank you so much again for all of you who came forward to be volunteers. We received a great response once again for volunteers at controls and will be prioritising on those local or wishing to travel by the most sustainable means to the control in order to keep our impact low. Due to its more remote location we may still have some opportunity to volunteer at CP4 so contact us on the race email if this appeals. It is really a beautiful location. Most other controls have been oversubscribed. The main sign up now is closed and volunteers will be allocated to roles and informed shortly

    Many Thanks

    TCR Team

  • Not doing Puy de Dome saves a tiny bit of climbing :-)

Shame as i'd have liked to go up PdeD as it looks good from around there.

I think I might have been to the col they've substituted for it. If so, it was nothing special - I just crossed over a main road about there and there was a col sign.

  • Climbing >>>

I'm off to buy some cakes.

  • Björn Lenhard (fastest PBP time ever, from last edition) just confirmed his attendance to this TCR

This year is going to be really awesome for us (the dot watchers :D )

  • Look out @skinny, you have some competition!

    Is last year's winner riding?
