Its the insurance costs which bump up the price. Some people don't like taking the risk incase of damage during transport.
Definitely doesn't account for £40 though, even with insurance.
Edit: just had a look and you have to buy £700 of additional compensation to get the price up to £40. Most of the stuff I'm seeing is not going to go anywhere near that.
