If you're adding bedrooms and floor area, whatever you spend will probably be reflected as an proportionate increase in the overall value of the property.
Occasionally, you might see an disproportionate increase, but property developer types are all over that sort of thing.
We're doing it for the extra space, allowing us to stay in the house for a few more years.
Two houses near me are having loft conversions done, this is in the Golden Triangle in Norwich so it made me think there must come a point where house values make converting the loft viable: if the difference between a 2 or 3 bed is more than about £25k then it's sensible if you have the funds to go ahead and extend upwards.
