Have a look at the Hawk 289 tho. Prettier and less common than the 427 reps.

It's not that ugly, they've just avoided trying to make it look like a spaceship or supercar. It's nicer than the current 3-series.

the crendon reps are supposed to be pretty close to the original chassis, too. i think the GDs always look 'not quite right'.

Thanks @lynx. It's been checked up and the chap who looked at it couldn't find anything wrong with the alternator, so he cleaned up the connections and re-tightened a few bits, thinks it might be a dodgy earth... we'll see! May need to tap you up in the future though!
