  • I think that sadly the invisible line is also permeable to ethnic groups, which is why Turkey may have been keen to exploit that 'tiny cut corner' that you describe - they are keen to defend the Turkmen people living in that area.

Whether that is a sensible decision is of course another matter - and tbh there don't seem to be many sensible decisions - or indeed options - coming out of that particular shit-show right now.

  • Moving to Qatar doesn't automatically equate to being loaded and being loaded shouldn't mean that you should be excluded from claiming damage or recompense from another party.

Yes they have lots of means that others don't have but actually that in itself is important. It helps them to establish a precedent that would support those others making claims without being faced with that barrier of means.

That doesn't mean I support the amount they are pursuing but the action itself is definitely justified and supportable.

  • his old man has form for dong stuff like this.
So pretty much everyone has been a dick.

  • how do you arrive at a sum of $15 million though?

Let's face it, he was treated the way he was because he's an ethnic minority, yes-regardless of if his family set it up or not-but that's a fucking shitload of cash that won't be used to educate other kids who didn't get to run to the very same news stations that they are now arguing have permanently destroyed his reputation over and above the hour and a half of police intimidation.

What's the difference between 1.5 million of justice and 150 million? Fucking mental.

  • His dad also stood for president of Sudan, didn't he? That says to me, rich and unprincipled, but not quite rich enough to buy the election.

  • Osborne has u-turned on his tax credit plans in the autumn statement. 2% rise in council tax too to fund social care.

  • yeah saw that on the PMQs. Tax on women's sanitary products to fund battered women's charities. because menstruation causes women to be abused.

also: cameron seems to have palour of a man who's just had a wank in a hot bath.

  • Cite your sources.

    It was @General_Lucifer.

  • Did we just get gifted a prison industrial complex?

  • ha! i think that jokes been doing the rounds then. i half inched it from a bloke in the office.

  • Apparently it's just to free-up the expensive land that current ones (pentonville, holloway etc) are occupying.
    We need moar buy-to-leave!

  • Wrong Chris Martin.

  • yes. i know.

  • Never thought I would see NHS commissioning responsibility
    discussed on here

I knew many acute commissioners in PCT days; they are probably the same people now. I don't think they are that bothered by who pays for social care as long as it's not them.

  • chauffer driven, sometime weekend cyclist 'lord' sugar in ignorant, asinine, made-up-bullshit shocker.

    http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/lord-sugar-attacked-by-cyclists-on-twitter-after-suggesting-99-per-cent-accidents-would-be-avoided-a3122886.html

  • "...been doing the rounds for a while now"
Oh really? I think you'll find my little joke was hot off the press, sir - 'looking like a freshly wanked cock' is the popular pun you may be thinking of.
    Good day, sir!

  • Osborne has u-turned on his tax credit plans in the autumn statement. 2% rise in council tax too to fund social care.

I was surprised. It has made me like him more. I wonder if Hunt would U-turn on doctors' pay if a similar pressure was exerted.

  • it may please you to know you're being quoted out loud by a be-ponytailed database administration operative who shops exclusively at sprots direct and eats microwaved chicken kormas for lunch.

(it's a great joke btw - i'll be taking credit for it again in precisely a months time when i microphone-drop it during christams dinner with my tory sympathising dad)

  • It has made me like him more.

in the same way that you 'd like a man who'd decided to perhaps NOT feed a basket full of puppies into an industrial mincer after all, because it might make him look a bit evil and that would stand in the way of his ambitions of being puppy murderer in-chief?

you do realise this this is the same man who has decided women can now pay for rape counselling through menstruation tax?

    fry.jpg

anyway, it's all going to go back to business as usual when they re-brand 'tax credits' as 'universal credit'

  • 2% rise in council tax too to fund social care

    Needs a scumbag hat

  • Now you put it like that...
