^This. Definitely did some of that early summer but instead of water it's Osmo. Also I'd eat a protein PowerBar afterwards so I'm lying in bed high on post exercise endorphins and sugar rush unable to sleep.

Trying this low carb jazz now, finding it quite hard as a vegetarian to get the calories in! More cheese needed I think

I just stood on scales today, first time in ages. Shit, I'm 87.7kg. This is terrible. So even though it's start of silly season, I'm off the booze. Gonna try low carb but with carbs eaten only after 5pm. Friend of mine been doing this a long time and is in great shape.

Ketosis I'm not sure about, having read around the subject over the weekend I'm not convinced it's a good idea. For me. I go to the gym, lift weights and play quite a bit of football. It doesn't sound to me like this will help me. The idea of my blood turning into some gross acid was particularly off putting!
What I am going to do is drop refined carbs (bread, noodles, pasta). Plan is to drop 2/3kg before Xmas whilst continuing my workout regime. -

refined carbs (bread, noodles, pasta)
fuck that's like 80% of my diet. and half the rest is biscuits.
actually I must eat more than 10% in biscuits.

but I can do this magic diet by swopping all the carbs for cheese?
I could stand to eat more cheese.

I could stand to eat more cheese.
Cheese & biscuits tho.

Since none of you will be needing any biscuits this christmas, if you could just package them all up and drop 'em off at my house, that'd be great, cheers

I would do, but can no longer fit through my front door.

I just spent all evening eating cheese and biscuits.
3 packets of cheese done.
How much do I stand to lose?

I did the keto diet for 6 weeks before I fell off my bike and broke my damn hip. I lost 1 and a half stone. I was a bit sceptical at first but felt great after a while (once in keto urine sticks etc). Exercise wise I felt rubbish for the first 30 mins, but then something kicks in and you feel like riding on and on. There are carbs hidden in almost everything, so you have to just be aware and count those, then eat all the cheese. I'm sure though if you then return to a normal diet you would put any weight loss back on. Mine has stayed off due to stress, post-accident, relationship etc. Oh, and eating lots of fatty stuff stopped my joints aching, which was nice...

anyone tried that Huel powdered food? I'm about to give it a bash - replace 50% of meals with that
-
• #9964
Search this thread. Someone was using it.
-
• #9966
Currently having Huel for lunch.
Accept its not as good as a big box of fresh healthy wonderfulness but it's not complete shit and does the job. I have issues with portion control and snacking. At least this way I'm on top of the game.
Fully accept that I'm a weirdo though.are you still using it? how is it/was it? That's the issue I have, snacking (and sugar ups and downs)

myfitnesspal says I'm on day 42 of my current logging 'streak' now
sticking to my 2000kcal on a 20% carb (100g) 30% protein (150g) 50% fat (111g) split
running twice a week (3-4 mile runs), doing strength training 3 times a week and I coach/play basketball once a week too but am also doing a coaching qualification on saturdays which involves lots of practical so really i play twice a week at the moment.
down to 101kg from 109kg since early oct so pretty happy with that (8kg in 7 weeks incl initial water weight drop so prob 1kg a week average). appetite is now always low, no cravings and energy levels are higher than before (when i get to bed on time at least).
think now my strength plan is ramping up a little I might up the protein a bit and drop the fat a little, am having no problems running 4 miles at tempo pace on 100g carbs a day so no need to worry too much about carb intake I think until I hit my 10+ mile runs in late Jan and even then it's probably just a case of a gel or two mid run.

I've dropped a kg this week - need to drop 3 more by the 20th ideally. Then put it all back on.

Just eat salad for every meal. Worked for me.

• #9972
LOLs
Pass the beer and kebab.
-
• #9973
Why the 20th? Hot date planned?
-
• #9974
It's when I go home for Xmas. So no gym. Might have to give this cycling lark a go
-
• #9975
Yes a hot date with a turkey and handfuls of cheese...
Thanks, might give this a proper go then now that my running season is almost over. Will be concentrating more on long steady/slow distance over winter building for marathon(s) in Spring, so fat stores should be utilised more during this time anyway.
Annoyingly already gone over 25-35g today with 2 crumpets...
