It's mainly a (minor) time saving thing. I need to print these files out maybe 3 times a week each when I'm preparing to interview people. Each file contains a list of questions to ask. Typically I'm rushing around looking for a room, trying to find my recorder and would just like to hit a key combo and have the printer spit out the questions so I can grab it as I walk to the room.
Right now I have to locate the file (they're in a shared network location but I could easily do a desktop shortcut), open it, click File > Print, apply the exact same non-default print settings I always have to apply, then click print, then close Word.
