They're great as a bridge between mitts and proper gloves, but don't work as liners at all.
Edit : also much better if you have warm arms, I used them for indoor skiing and with a Down jacket they were warm enough
Re amfibs, maybe a newer version thing, but I found them fine for flexibility. (obviously less so than lycra, but not enough to complain about)
Must be my epic thighs.
To be honest they're a foot too long for me. So maybe the areas designed to flex aren't lining up for me.
