I didn't wanna use the weird over-caliper hanger that comes with the PDWs, so I got a SKS hanger and bent it to fit the shape/profile of the guards., works just fine.
It's not as sturdily constructed as the PDW one, but has held perfectly solidly for the past 3 months that i've had the guards.

The thing with the ass-saver is what happens when is a good amount of water going up. Most of it goes down the "mudguard" to your ST, cranks and feet. A MTB clip-on is much better option

Same here... 9 months or so down the line and still going well...

Nice! Didn't realise that was possible. Looks ideal.
I assume clearance around the caliper wasn't an issue? The stays look to be at the perfect angle.

Nope, plenty of room with BB7 and Spyre SLC

I struggled to get a mudguard to fit the forks on my synapse so after a bit of thought and fiddling came up with this Frankenstein guard made from a rear XL raceblade sans arms (replaced for free by SKS after I bent an arm by accident), two arms from a traditional mudguard set I found on eBay, some axiom runners, a calliper bracket off some old raceblade longs and some bolts.
The arms were too long so I trimmed them down with a hacksaw and then bonded them into the arm bracket thing on the raceblade. They were pretty loose but after a chat to the chap in the hardware shop he recommended the gorilla glue stuff which expands and as well as bonds metal to plastic.
So far so good, all feels solid and rattle free. Should be good to ride tomorrow once the glue has cured. Hoping it works!

I'm lazy, sorry, best mudguards for a road bike that has eyelets already?
Preferable available in black and compatible with 28s but could settle for 25s if required.

I found the Honjo to be really weak and I had ruined mine within a month by getting my toe under it and folding it in half. Also, they're £90 FFS.

They're OK, but the main problem is that the stays are too short, and the p clips that the stays use to mount to the dropouts are pretty rubbish too, as they don't clamp firmly enough on the stays, however tight you nip them up to. This all results in the stays constantly popping off or slipping, leading to a tyre rub situation, and annoying rattles.
On the plus side, they do look pretty in polished ally

Thank you. My rear SKS snapped last night and now I can finally utilize the PDWs that have been languishing in the parts box.

Any more word on when the black PDW are likely to appear or of anywhere that still has the old ones at clear out £39 prices? I can hold off on guards no more.

So fucking lazy ;)
Anything to keep water from trickling down in to your chamois I guess.
