Has anyone ever successfully put eye drops in a cat's eye?
-
• #4682
Yes. It requires subterfuge, an iron grip, and profuse apologies afterwards.

My wife and I managed it, though it needed both of us. One to hold cat and head while the other opens the eye and applies drops. Used the technique of wrapping cat in blanket or towel with only head poking out, to prevent escape and scratches. Ours were only kittens when we had to do this, wouldn’t fancy trying now they are adults.
Helps if you see your vet do it first. The way they handle the cat was an eye opener for us. More assertive than we were used to.

Cat in busy day helping removing wallpaper.
What did the non ginger cat do?
-
• #4685
Yes, it required full motorcycle leathers to pin the furball down. Partly as the cat was fascinated with the hooman in the funny outfit, while the minimised injury to the hooman from the furball.
Required another person to do the actual drops in to eyes.

He mainly just chills on top of the kitchen cupboards all day. He's pretty well behaved, if a little noisy when he wants something.

Simply guarding Delia's Christmas Collection (rare first edition) from would-be tea-leafs? They should get medals made of sardines.

Only the bottom one would eat sardines. The other two are so brainwashed that they will only eat dry food, they don't even steal food if you leave it lying about.
What sort of madness is that? -
