  • What is the correct terminology for hubs that have a hollow axle, which is internally threaded to accept an allen bolt

  • I've seen "bolt-on" used to describe solid axles that are externally threaded to take track nuts. Is that also correct? Is there a term used to distinguish the two?

Not really. In the olden days, they weren't called anything because that's how everything worked, then they were called 'nutted axles' to draw attention to the fact that there was no QR.
