I do get heel strike with my panniers on my day one.
They're easily remedy with different panniers and rack, especially a rack with a lower rail.

@edscoble, agree with you on the surly comment. With the new additions Genesis have a strong stable of bikes to choose from, and I feel the geometries are better than Surly, they always feel too long in the reach, or sizing down requires a shit load of spacers up front, which isn't a massive issue, just aesthetically a taller headtube looks better. The Cdf you posted does look awesome, and as I always come back to with Genesis, colour, why just yellow for frameset?

Anyone know how the disc brake routing for the Kinesis 4S disc works? Rear brake specifically. All the routing's internal on the downtube and top tube, but there's then a brake hose holder thing on the bottom of the left chainstay. Can't work out much else from the pics on their site...
Edit: Oh and how does the mudguard mounting work on the fork? On the bike show pics it looks like this:
Presumably with eyelets near the bottom of the fork.
But then other pics show an eyelet halfway up the inside of the fork:
Would that work with SKS guards?

Hello, just got a my 63cm blue frameset today and will create a "Current Project" thread later with pics.
For your question about the rear brake cable routing, as far as I understand, the cable enters the diagonal tube by a multiport, and exits at the bottom of it under the bottom bracket, and then follows the left chainstay underneath until near the brake mount... if words aren't enough take a look at the website pics:
About the mudguards, I don't know wich SKS model could work, still have to figure that out, but I can confirm that the fork legs has some eyelets in the inside :)
PD: I just emailed Bruce Dalton asking to clarify the rear brake cable routing if he can with pictures of his own 4S Disc.
Seems like in the pre-production model there was a exit multiport as you can see in this picture, but it was removed and the cable holders of the left chainstay where moved to the bottom

That new Croix de fer frameset looks tempting, but I'm also considering the Specialized Diverge Elite dsw, as it's a bit cheaper than a custom build (Tiagra 4700 and stuff) around the cdf frame would be. Any opinions about the two?

Nice one! That's exactly the frame I'm looking at. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your project thread.
So there's no specific rear brake routing out? It just pops out between the front and rear mech cables at the BB?

New KHS flite with the classic aero shape, though I doubt it'll come to the UK.

I think so, because the placement of the cable housing guides on the left chainstay forces to be that way:
And looking at the frame there is no other possible option than to exit the cable with its housing by one of those two holes. I think there is room enough but still will have to wait to try it... hope Bruce Dalton answers first!
The project thread will need some good light for the photos to be taken :(, I'll DM you when its created.

@TurtleRecall Since Bruce Dalton has been ignoring my emails, tweets and instagram comments about the topic... I managed to find a twitter user with a recently build 4S Disc that gladly took some pics of the rear brake cable routing... exactly how we suspected :)

Ah great! Exactly how you suspected, I was mystified :)
How's your build coming along? I'm waiting for 63cm blue to come back into stock, just got my groupset ordered and now looking at chinese ebay clinchers!
Edit: oh and it's interesting to see how he's done the mudguards, looks like some pretty severe bending of SKS guard stays to fit 'em.
Looking at the official Kinesis pics, I think they used Portland Design Works guards that attach directly to the QR skewer. Not 100% sure though.

Just ordered a power2max FSA Gossamer yesterday with the black friday discount, with Praxis Works 52/36 chainrings (might finally use Doval rings) and rotor chainring bolts.
Just created current project thread :D

Genesis have finally updated the website with next years frames and geometries and some other details.
Equilibrium disc at 2.95kg is a little more than expected but still gonna be a brilliant piece of kit.

Indeed, was very impressed with the design, not too much like a dutch bike nor too sporty.

Personal fav is this pic:
If you need to put that amount of spacers on a Cervelo that is branded 'endurance' geo, its time to get one of these:
Electronic transmission, can accommodate wide tyres etc

And you could put that rock in your basket rather than wedging it between your water bottles.
Just checked out all of the new models. Dunno if Alb is still at Genesis but if so, bravo @Alb !
They all look great, but I they've really nailed it with Equilibrium Decade, Tour de Fer 20 and the Flyer. I'd happily replace my stable with those. They're very, very well thought out.
