• Not even kickstarter. Indiegogo.

  • Indiegogo PM in being shit shocker

    ftfy

  • Snap! (and that probably goes for their PM housing too)

  • My bike will be a XC bike theoretically.

What sort of self respecting 40 year old builds a bouncy BMX to play in the woods.....

  • can anyone name a single decent kickstarter campaign?

  • I've also read P2M's have a tendency to under-read? But I guess I'll be using it as a training tool so as long as there's no drift I don't mind, I don't need to willy wave power spikes.

I can't find the Hunter article @danstuff ...will probably settle for a P2M for now, use it to the fullest and then when new analysis methods come out for L/R and crank position I'll make another jump. I too can't see how L/R will truly help you, with exception for when you injure one of your legs.

  • see how L/R will truly help you, with exception for when you injure one of your legs

It still won't help you. Knowing how broken your leg is doesn't mend it.

  • p2m it is. Now to source an S900/S950/it's other variants crankset...

Edit: to make searching easier - would a Force 1x crankset work too? I guess it's just a case of removing the 1x spider and putting the P2M in, but will it fit up properly? Is the Force 1x/CX crank arm the same as the Force22 arm?

  • Mine reads bang on with my srm.

  • Mine shows what I expect when compared to the other power meters which I use.

  • I believe all the new gen force crank arms are the same design and are based on the S950

  • My P2M under reads................ I wish.

I get the odd spike. Which you only see if you follow TSS during a ride. They are too short to affect average, and training peaks removes them. But still annoying.

Need to send it off for fixing.

    So much effort, so lazy.....

  • I've mentioned this before.

But when I tore my left achilles. My P2M showed a slight left bias. This is down to me pulling up with my right to reduce pressure on the left. Which the P2M sees as left leg effort.

Still. You can follow a ride and note when the in balance starts. So you don't do too much while healing.

  • So it's possible to source a new gen cx crankset (cheaper than a road one at some places) and just use the crank arms off that? Awesome.

  • Cheers for the info. I think I'm pretty much decided.

  • I believe so.

I haven't done it, so maybe check elsewhere first.

If you do get the CX crank get one with a sensible tooth count and I might take it off you :)

  • 2 (of 3) bikes now have 6800 .. if I am going to ride outside this winter stages or pioneer for left hand only? Talked to a shop yesterday and saw old and new stages side by side; the shop reckons with the new design it won't have any issues regarding reliability, battery drain etc.

    Pioneer is £110 pricier ..

  • Can you upgrade the left only Pioneer to left/right?

  • yep .. 1 of 2 bikes might have issue with the depth of the unit .. will check

  • If you do get the CX crank get one with a sensible tooth count

The SRAM CX1 cranks come without a chainring, that's why they're cheaper than a road chainset. The 1×11 road cranks with one thick/thin ring tend to be more expensive than a regular road set with two rings. Sounds like a hipster tax :-)

Have you been looking at my browsing history?

  • Oh, OK. I'm sure I've seen them for sale complete with ring and BB in the past for crazy cheaps: probably unboxed OEM takeoffs.

@mishmash11 the new gen Rival cranks have the same detachable spider interface so they would be a goer too. Not significantly porkier than the carbon force cranks despite being solid om-nom style forged arms. There's a GXP version for sale in the classifieds now.

  • I've had no issues with my stages since it was replaced last year. Battery life is amazing - I think I've been through 2 (inc the one which came with the unit) since receiving it in sept 2014. This is on my daily commute/training bike.

  • Good to hear! I saw the G2 yesterday against G1 and could clearly see why there were issues with the battery door. Just poor product design in G1.

Quite excited to do the FTP test as my left leg is stronger than right ;)

  • Going to Gran Canaria next week, take powermeter or fuck it off?
