You could book for RASA W1 in Dering Street, near Oxford Circus. You may not want a restaurant, but you can have a fairly small amount of food there, too.

Went to Ham Yard the other day.
Not as good as I would've hoped.

Anyone been to Beef and Brew in Kentish Town? Over-branded tosh or decent fodder?
-
• #386
The former I'd say.
Expensive for what it is. truffle bernaise and french dip is pretty good though

If you're up that way and in the mood for steak, try the Onglet at Market on Parkway in Camden Town. It's bloody good, and they are always really friendly.

^ Thanks chaps! Will give Market a punt.
These guys at top of Kentish make spring and summer rolls from scratch while you wait. Very tasty. http://www.carrotsanddaikon.com/

Nice. Gonna take the Mrs this weekend - dinner better than brunch I guess?

Green Pea in Greenwich / Maze Hill. Looks a bit shabby from the outside but the owner is a lovely bloke, food is plentiful, very good and cheap.
Also, he's my neighbour. But others agree with me

Dinner menu is a bit bigger, although on Sundays they do big roasts too, and then the kitchen shuts at 3.

my fav for that area is Zaibatsu on Trafalgar Road.
BYOB and excellent sushi/JapFusion place, and reasonable cheapstyles -
• #394
Absolutely, +1 for Zaibatsu. But do try the Green Pea too if you're local (also BYOW, few quid corkage)
I'm also biased as the owner Tom helped us out on Xmas day a couple of years ago when the oven packed up. Cooked up a veggie dish for my sister at no notice and refused to accept any money.

Recommendation for a Turkish on Green Lanes? Nothing fancy, but something reliable! I thought Devran was pretty good. Cheers!
-
• #396
Hala is pretty amazing for Turkish food. Friendly and well priced.
-
• #397
They're all pretty decent. Gokyuzu is probably my current favourite but it's always too busy to bother going. Selale and Antpellier probably after that although Hala is also good.
The only one I'd really steer clear of is Londoner which is perpetually empty.

Went, was yummy and simple. Would go again.

Any recommendations near Clapham or Waterloo for a group of 10 people that isn't going to break the bank?
Brasserie Zedel?
