  • Going for a 27.0 post would mean you may have to over tighten the clamp to hold it securely. The clamp lugs are known to crack.
    No disadvantage to reaming that I can see. It sounds like that would sort it out.
    Sadly I don't need a 27.4. post. I have a nos Quantum frame in the loft and the 27.4 I bought for that doesn't fit. I may be in the same boat! My other one has a 27.4 that fits perfectly.

    Ok, I'll take the frame up to the workshop tomorrow and run the ream down the seat tube.

    I'm a bit concerned about the cracking - the period posts don't actually go down very far at all when at maximum height.
