Wonder if a Pomp should replace my Brompton as a ride to work bike now I work somewhere with proper bike parking.

SS at the moment.
In that case, get some nice wide flat pedals and allow her to get the hang of riding a small bike.

Have a look at the Charge Plug (2016) for comparison, the Plug 0 pretty much on pair with the Pompino, except with more tyres clearance.

Buy my all city nature boy 49cm?
-
• #5456
I've actually got single sided pedals to run on it as it's the commuter/pub bike and I can't be bothered to change shoes all the time.

After a few days' fun skidding around I'm getting shit AGAIN from my rear brake. I tweak the pads or the wheel or the tension and it works a bit better for a ride or two and then it's fucked again and it's SO FRUSTRATING

Cantis or mini-vs?
-
• #5462
Mini Vs. I think that what's happened is because the wheel wasn't running perfectly straight it's rubbed the pads in a weird shape so that when I adjust the brake a bit there may only be a tiny bit of pad providing any friction.

I'm really like the look of the 2016 Charge range, they're making them like they used to again.
-
• #5464
Maybe you should just brake normally instead of trying to skid.

Had a head on with another cyclist this morning 50/50 (2 dicks going to fast) Anyway, his carbon bianchi looked fine, my Pompino not so good. Forks proper noodled, and not sure about the frame

Frame could be ok, look like the fork took the impact.

Lower rake and rizla clearance. Whats the issue?
-
• #5468
Yeah, I can't see any issues with frame, but not sure I want to risk it, and I've been looking for a reason to justify a cotic escapade to her indoors, so this might be my chance.

I did try letting some air out of the tire to try and ride it home but it wasn't having any of it.
-
• #5470
carbon is stronk!
-
• #5471
Should you want it (I.e. if a bike shop or builder validates that the frame is OK) then I have a spare pomp fork kicking about that I need rid of.

Nice try, but it looks like @HousecatHST can get his steering geometry back to ridable by just turning the fork around, and get the aero benefit of brakes behind the fork blades as a bonus.

It was more that the skidding was indicative of a rear brake that wasn't shit.

Also no.
Very nice sneaky readers wives there. This is a pretty similar setup to the one we've got now. Same mudguards + tires.
Clipless just looks so much nicer than platforms though!
