  • Sorry for the bad (and probably huge) pic. I can't seem to level my bars whilst keeping a comfortable position on the hoods. Am I missing something obvious here? Is it because the hoods/levers I have chosen are a bit "retro"? I rushed into buying them and kind of feel like I made a bad choice.

  • Yeah they kinda belong on a bike from the 70's.

  • Haha! Would something like this be a better shout http://www.wiggle.co.uk/tektro-rl520-drop-bar-brake-lever/ ? Does anyone have any recommendations?

  • It's the bars moer than the levers.

  • Yeah, I have a pair of Tektro R100 levers in black you can have for £10 posted.
Can't find a good photo online, but they're very similar to these:

PM me if you want photos

  • Bar pretty long to begin with.

Yeah, not those though, they're for v brakes.

Buy Pifko's old Tektros, or pay more for the Cane Creak version, or buy these.

  • Nice! if i were you i would try and get hold of a track fork. :)

  • Nah, road fork is fine.

  • Thank you all for your advice, and well spotted @miro_o

I don't think that I have any other drop bars that are "shorter", so I'll have a go with @Pifko 's levers and see whether that does the trick.

  • How was the reach? does it feel like you have to crane your neck just to keep your head up?

  • It seems okay, but I will check when I ride home tonight. The position is pretty comfortable overall, but my hands get a bit achey sometimes when I'm riding. I know that it could be a number of things, but I think that I have finally got my position about right and am hoping that switching levers will sort the rest out (optimistic).

  • It should, the flatter hood help make it feel more comfortable resting your hand on it.

If you still got pressure on your hand, move your saddle back a bit more to put less weight on the handlebar.

  • Recently had a rear hub thread whilst bombing a hill. Took tredz 3 and a half weeks to get my new hub to me but got the track champion back on the road

  • Here she is in her autumn glory

  • how do you rate the planet x wheels? in need of some new hoops for my new pre-cursa and these seem reasonable

  • Anyone have a 54 or 56 Precursa frame/frame&forks they want to sell?

Not too precious about general condition as it'll be to experiment with TT position.

Have a 58 if anyone wants a swap?

  • my seta

  • Which velodrome is that? The coaches let you ride with a head unit on the bars?

  • it's "Cido arena" in Lithuania. rules are not very strict over here.

  • Haha, fair enough :-) Just wondered if you'd slipped through the net at a track in the UK. Lovely bike btw! What type of rims are those carbon ones I've seen in other photos of the bike?

  • i had corima's before if you are about those 12k carbon ones

  • Anyone got a Navigator Pista front wheel they want to sell me?

  • How can someone tell the difference between a Dolan Pre-Cursa and a Dolan FXE?
Is it just the rear brake cable holders and the bottle cage holes?
