  • Not sure its a bad thing that its so busy. But yes annoying I didn't get a ticket on the door. Just got an advanced ticket for tomorrow

  • Got in after queuing for 45 mins. I guess if one fancies "native american" memorabilia and hippy clothing it's worth it, otherwise avoid. Poor selection of food and very overcrowded venue. I won't be going to the next one.

  • Had a lovely day going round this with a friend who luckily had a spare ticket. I turned up at 9:30 and got a very decent place in the queue. We met lots of people we know, had some very decent snack food, bought a few interesting things, and heard a few good talks, including one by Gary Francione. Great weather for cycling there and back. The only mildly annoying thing was that I couldn't go to the hill-climbs, which I could have prioritised if I'd wanted to, but that was due to my own lack of foresight in not getting down there earlier yesterday. Excellent to see it so popular.

  • Mr Normal - I will have to disagree. Awesome selection of food. Shit loads of cheese - which was nice. Sushi, hot dogs, burgers, stew, salads, Falafel, jamaican curry, bakeries everywhere.. Filled my boots until it got busy and I bailed. Good talks and informative people at the stands - especially the medical marijuana man. 8/10 - Would go again - (maybe not for £15)

  • The thing is I can get most of that food locally, without queueing for hours and cheaper. I must be getting old or/and grumpy. I used to get excited so much about it but now I can only see poor quality, expensive blenders, shite clothing made in sweatshops, and debates raw vs cooked food. I struggle to see the connection between that and veganism. Just another food show.

  • Does anyone want to go to a vegan comedy night?

I've never been to see any comedians (insert obvious nationalist stereotype) and this looks like a great excuse to practise my best stony-faced expression:

  • Tried some vegan baking last night for WUTM, you know what, you guys aren't as wacky as you're made out to be. Will definitely be trying out some more.

  • I can't remember if I've posted it in here before but the facebook group I started with some friends is now a year old. We're up to a WHOPPING 180ish members. FFO: meaningful discussion, polish lager and top quality images of vegan food.

  • I find vegan bakes easier

  • You know what, that's exactly how I felt. Kind of like, is that it? A lot less messier as well. Less superfluous ingredients as well. Everything that went in contributed to the flavour and the structure. Going to definitely dabble more. Really peaked my interest.

  • I've got Ms Cupcakes cookbook. Everything in it is so easy and tastes great. Sadly it doesn't have the ferrero rocher inspired cupcakes in it that I'm always buying from her whenever I'm in Brixton.

  • Hang on, what? I missed this? Godammit man. Hang on...no....when is ze vegan WUTM run?

  • Have you discovered aquafaba yet Tibbs? Gamechanger. Plus it gives me a legit excuse to make all ze hummus.

  • There's no vegan specific run, if there's a vegan on the delivery then everyone gets a vegan muffin. Feel it's better to do it that way than marginalise a legitimate segment of society.

  • Sorry, you're barred.

  • Aw wot...? I said I was sorry.

  • Christine does great vegan muffins.

  • I'm not much into baking or sweets in general, but for those looking for great vegan recipes I can once more recommend Isa Chandra's site Post Punk Kitchen (check desserts and cupcakes in the recipes section).
Can whole heartedly recommend her Raspberry Truffle Brownies!

  • Oh and another vegan tip for people in Berlin -
was amazed to realize today that the budget supermarket Netto now stocks a variety of vegan stuff!
Including various own-label products from (german vegan supermarket chain) Veganz !
Just did a Gulasch with their soy chunks, and they're pretty good!

  • Yeah, that's where I got my muffin recipe from. Modified it a bit, but it's fail proof

  • Does anyone want to go to a vegan comedy night?

I have to say that I didn't think anyone would want to. :)

  • Have you discovered aquafaba yet Tibbs? Gamechanger.

Very nice, I hadn't heard about that yet. Thanks!
