    Yeah, white socks >>>

  • Rapha socks

  • Theyve installed a vending machine at my gym. It takes bank cards!

    What twisted witchcraft is this.,,,,,

Just spent 90 mins doing heavy weights, ignored the stretch/core mat area completely, bought a selection of massive protein bars from the evil machine, and rode home.

    Nearly finished the bars already.

    #relapse

  • I sold the free ones I got with their magazines...

  • See 'licensing effect' article above.

  • Yeah. Nutramide seems to be sponsoring the gym now.

Loads of power words all over the gym.
Much grow, so lean, very mass.

The bars I ate last night had 30g of protein each. Super dense. Like eating chocolate coated dark matter.

    Brilliant.

  • Nutramide

Sounds like something that was banned for causing birth defects..

  • Or will be...

  • Just looked into this.

I reckon I get at least double the recommended protein intake.

But I also train loads. So that's fine.

    No?

  • If you want to be a body builder, sure.

  • I was a bit worried about that.

  • approves!

  • Climbers legs?

  • Fuck that.

They have treadmills that simulate mountain running/walking up here. They are as fast as your usual treadmill. But they do epic gradients. Miserable.

  • They have treadmills that simulate mountain running/walking up here.

Because there are so few real mountains where you live O.o

  • That's a picture of Forsteman before he cut and dyed his hair.

  • Just to take it a step further.

I discovered them in a mountain hotel.

  • As only my cycling friends, and my gay friends bother posting anything on Facebook.

My feed tended to consist of photos from 'bear' themed cruises, and funny cycling related YouTube clips.

Then forstemann gained a bit of popularity amongst gay men, and it all fused into a soup of endless forsteman squat vids.

  • Back to weight loss.

Long slow snow runs, and some slow pace fat biking. Combined with a more normal protein intake.

    That's my new plan.

  • they put down their beers

Annoying, but it's working for me given my slightly more than average beer intake. At least mine is "not pick up as many beers" rather than put them down completely.

I'm a slave to numbers but they're a great motivator. Watching W/kg slowly trend up is lovely, but I treat those numbers as just motivation and not the end goal. My end goal is a target weight (and a BMI just in the "Normal" range, e.g. <25) and I know what is sensible to get me there. Hopefully once I get there I will be able to hold it around there but even that will take some mental fortitude. I can't even imagine going lower than that (or wanting to go lower than that) given my build and attitude to food, beer and not being very competitive.

  • great stuff!

The good news is that as training builds the battle tends to become more about getting enough fuel in, and doing it in a healthy way, but a beer every now and then isn't a bad thing, I tended to limit it to the last day of training each week before a rest day, so it felt like a bit of a celebration to have made it through the week!

Really enjoying following what I've taken from "racing weight" it feels like the first time i've restricted calories but don't seem to be suffering too much in training as a lot of the calories are coming from whole grain carbs rather than my usual approach of using a lot of protein and fat and reducing carb intake. Still early days, though.

Interestingly was looking back at my weight log over the last few years, and there has been a strong trend downwards, starting at 85kg in 2011 down to the 72 ish that I am now (and have been for the last 18 months give or take 2kg or so), but never lower than that for any significant period of time, hopefully my current approach is sustainable, to shift me into a 68-70kg range, which I think will be 12-15% body fat which I think is a good, but probably sustainable level for me.

  • Back on track after starting again in September (87kg today, exactly according to my plan spookily). Hoping for 80kg (and to reward myself with a Forerunner 920xt) on Feb 24th. 77kg (and still just in the "overweight" category by BMI) for Brighton Marathon.

Looking back I'm annoyed that I let the weight loss slip last year as I slowly put it all back on. With the marathon training I'll be far less likely to let it go over Christmas and New Year, and no ski trips booked for next year means no excessive weeks of excessive excess.

  • I've stopped tracking my weight. Totally can't be arsed.

  • My weight is awful. It never really recovered from PBP, and then I went to Houston twice. I'm a stone up on this time last year. Trying to get a handle on it now. Boo.
