Anybody want some orange reflective vinyl? Nikkalite F4377 Orange, 3-5 year commerical grade reflective 1220mm wide, usually about £10 per metre but I took an end roll off our local supplier so I can sort you out with smaller amounts for low prices. Shown with Moon Comet for comparison

Rear light recommendation question time!
I need a new rear light - it doesn't have to be desperately powerful as I'm mostly riding on off-road paths here in Helsinki.
I've seen other people with lights that are like a solid light, that occasionally blinks brighter - I like that.
I'd prefer something that runs of AAs or is self contained rechargeable (eg off USB) than have to get into additional battery types and chargers.
Any suggestions?

I've found my Cateye Rapid 1 pretty decent for it's size, and is USB rechargeable. It's been in full blast of the spray from my rear wheel for 2 winters, so is well waterproof. I'm sure the newer / higher power ones also work well (e.g. rapid x3).

I have a front on the way.
Tempted to get more. They are more visible than the lumens suggest. -

Well. It has the changeable rear section you mentioned.
Sits absolutely solidly.

Thanks - that looks like it'll do nicely. Also I have a bunch of Cateye attachment parts already which will be immensely useful. Think I'll go for it.

I'll take a punt on these "moon" lights. @Smallfurry - what's the link for the front to match? I ebay searched but failed.

Wiggle have the front ones.

Says tail light though.
I guess mine will arrive in a few days if you can wait. I'll confirm quality and that it's a front. -

LEDs look pretty red in that third picture.

I ebay searched
If you're in the UK, just do a normal search, they are distributed by Raleigh so most shops have them.

Yeah.
I took a risk. But a second rear wouldn't hurt. They're probably £3 cheaper buying local fir you UK guys and gals. But I struggled to get them under the local import tax limit. So that made a massive difference to me.

Yes please, commuter bike isn't quite anti enough yet.

Yeah, that's the one I found. Cool - I'll look at normal shops then.
Or... pushes luck ... Where's the cheapest normal web shop to buy these "moon" lights from?

What do people use on the front for riding reasonably fast on unlit roads? Thinking of either getting a chinese eBay special or one of these Lezyne ones.

If you're out in the country with no light what's the so ever. 600 lumen is about the minimum.
I've ordered this. But direct.
http://www.merlincycles.com/k20-high-powered-front-bike-light-86619.htmlBit of a faff with the separate battery. But should be nice now eternal darkness is setting in.

No, not in thousands of kilometres using two of them.

Those are a bit weaker.
I've been running mine on strobe. Seems more than bright enough.

Yay for PX!
Yet the Mk2 was about the only Moon light I didn't suggest :-)
