What size fan should I be looking for?
Diameter? watts?Found some huge industrial lookings ones last night. But Reading the specs revelled they were 25cm in diameter. So it turns out they were just photo'd reallly far away.
Cant help but wish I could just wire one up to the bike. Push big watts or melt!

Big diameter, shurely?
Plus fast motor speed. So high cadence, big chainring.
We're still talking fans right?

This is a fucking PITA.
There arent exactly a shit ton of stores stocking big fans in Norway in October. Those that do seem to have absolutely terrible reviews. Noisey, broken, weak, flimsy.
I dont want loads of settings, or rotating heads, or flashy brushed steel finishing.
I just want a hurricane Level of Cold air abuse.

What's the Norwegian version of Screwfix? They ought to have proper fans for industrial sorta use.
-
• #956
Theres a few like Screwfix.
I may need to do 'proper meatworld shopping' NeXT time I have Access to a car.

At least 18" @Smallfurry which is probably the size of skinny's linked fan?
Mine has premi-air written on it... but I think they're mostly pretty standard until you spend £300 on a Dyson or a 32" photo-studio monster.

Anyone used a Elite Volare Mag Force Elastogel trainer? Thinking about buying a used one from gumtree.

I've installed the CycleOps app onto my massive phone.
Its a big waterproof 6" jobbie with inbuilt ant+. I've moved all my Sufferfest vids onto a microSD card too.
Just need the massive fan now.

How is the Vortex? Worth £230 on ROSE?

Halfords do own brand turbo tyres for £10

Great price on a Kinetic Road Machine, but only for the next half hour.

Bought one. Now what?

Also, read this thread, subscribe to TrainerRoad, Zwift, etc...

I had trainerroad in the past; enjoyed it .. will try Zwift .. need to get a cheap rear wheel and tyre sorted. Already got ANT+ usb stick and HRM.

Fuck all these online platforms.
Just stick some music on and get it done.

Just stick some music on and get it done.
There is always that option, as long you know what "it" is.
I was quite happy using my own sessions of varying intervals, but tried TrainerRoad and found that I preferred having something to follow on screen.
-
• #971
Yeah I'll give you that. It is sort of training plan to follow.
-
• #972
Innit. Some people like to follow generic, online training plans. Others like to go onto bike forums and ask people like you what they should be doing :-)
-
• #973
Both are as bad as each other.

Wow, that KK price was an absolute steal. The added bonus of the road machine is that if you don't have a PM, the power curve is really stable and doesn't drift as the fluid heats up. So virtual power numbers are consistent.
On a side note, I've been pissing around on Zwift for a few weeks now while I've been unable to ride outdoors. I must admit it's grown on me a bit, but I still think it's not suited to structured work. Too many distractions. I'll be back to Trainerroad (with loud music) for the rest of the winter.

Sorry, didn't see this until now - yes, absolutely it's a great trainer and that's a great price
This honestly works.
A few 30 second intervals at high cadence, lazy sweetspot, whatever. Just do it at less watts and duration than usual. If I have a complete break I struggle to restart.
