  • sorry I should have been clear, that was measured to top of saddle! 880mm is the number

  • What about Enve finishing kit?

  • fancy paying for it? ;)

  • Surely you'd get about 30mm back with the seatpost clamp stack height and the saddle stack height then if your measurement is to the top of the saddle? So the zipp would just about fit no? Maybe.

  • 880mm is the number

that takes into account saddle height (was fit using the Cambium which I find incredibly comfortable)

no seatpost clamp stack height really

  • My bad, I thought the 240mm of usable post on the zipp meant to below the clamp but it's probably to centre of clamp isn't it... Looking forward to this build!

  • wow 880mm saddle height, how tall are you?

If the zipp won't work, go for Fizik; no doubt about it.

  • yeah I'm 6'6 so most of my bikes are quite big! http://www.pedalroom.com/members/apolloxl

The horizontal toptube ones are in the 65-67cm seattube range :/

  • Love that Somec

  • thanks @macaroon

    hubs / skewers arrived...

I'm sure you're all familiar with them, but the engineering is pretty incredible....

  • Anyone running Schwalbe One tyres? thinking of running the 25mms tubeless...

  • @ObiWomKenobi I've got 25mm Schwalbe One clinchers (non tubeless) on my Canyon. Mostly used for longer rides and races and I'll swap them out for 28c GP4000s after my last duathlon this weekend, but they feel quick and I haven't had any visits in 1000 or so miles so.

  • What rims are you getting?

  • 2015 Pacenti SL 23

These will hopefully be built up by Sam at LMNH next week. Only ever heard the best about his wheelbuilds.

  • grippy in the wet?

  • I'm using them on my racing bike, brilliant tyres. Grippy, quick, light, no punctures.

  • Ha! That wheelset is on my shopping list for summer. SL23s are competing with some crabon rims though. One builder I was talking to (DCR Wheels) seems to have withdrawn the SL23 due to QC issues or something - not sure how widespread that is, most people seem to get along with them from what I've read.

Look forward to hearing how they go!

  • I've read that too... apparently was a last batch of the earlier model, and these have been redesigned... fingers crossed!

will probably go with black Sapim Race spokes but gonna talk to Sam too about this...love the look of these

I'll be rocking 32h both wheels so 3x front and rear, as +Turkish suggested (and I've ridden in the past on the Somec with my 32h/32h 3x Record to Open Pro, have had no issues whatsoever)

  • good to hear.. you are running tubeless yeah? Stans yellow tape and some sealant?

  • Yeah, my wheels are tubeless ready, but my other set of wheels use stans tape, sealant and valve without issue.

  • wait, your tubeless ready need rimtape too right? pls explain as you would to a 5 yr old, been a long day! Pacentis are tubeless ready, so what do I need? AFAIK, valve stem, yellow tape, sealant and a tyre?

Are your "other set" not tubeless specific?

  • If there is holes for spokes, you need the tape. Judging by this photo, you need the tape.

  • So my tubeless wheels don't have holes for spokes, meaning you don't need the rim tape. The other wheels I had set up tubless are just Shimano RS11 so used the tape.
