One of the comments here: http://www.londoncyclist.co.uk/how-to-report-bad-drivers/ claims it's a driver number, but I've seen drivers being swapped mid route and it not being changed.
I thought it was just an easier ID number for the vehicle (rather than the number plate) to make it easier for driver swaps mid route (e.g. "At 11.30am wait at Stop X and swap with bus 36" given that buses get rerouted, delayed and otherwise messed around with all the time.)

That will be his running number
EDIT: Yeah what @Greenbank said

Yeah if reporting drivers you definitely want the 'running number' of the bus (i.e the 36) as well as - or in preference to - the number plate. But it's in the pic so all's good (unless they're fiddling around with them to avoid detection).
EDIT: yeah what both of the previous said!

I've had a reply about my complaint, hopefully they actually take it as seriously as they say they will.
"Thanks for your email of 6 October about the poor standard of driving on bus route number75. I’m sorry for the poor standard of driving that you experienced at Mayow Road.
Poor driving or driving without due care is simply unacceptable. I’ve made Stagecoach London, the company that runs this route for us, aware of your concerns. The driver will be identified and then interviewed by a manager. Afterwards, appropriate steps could be taken to address the behaviour you experienced.
The safety of our customers and road users is our highest priority. We go to great lengths to train our bus drivers to very high standards.
We continue to monitor driving performance, to ensure that high standards are followed and maintained. Every month we carry out over 600 Driver Quality Monitoring surveys. This provides us with technical assessments of their driving skills. Drivers are assessed on acceleration and braking, as well as the use of mirrors and road positioning.
Once again, I’m very sorry for any distress and inconvenience this caused you." -

Why was this Harry Clarke cunt let off?
Needs one of his victim's family members to run him the fuck over and claim they blacked out or some shit. "Oh, yeah, preventable death but like driving and shit". Cunt.

It does seem bizarre. Looks like the decision not to prosecute was made very early, before the revelations about his medical record etc. As I understand it the inquest cannot result in criminal proceedings (which is good in some ways as it helps the truth come out and lessons be learnt). It's a real shame to see a reasonable proceeding be corrupted by the fact it was all human error, though. If the lorry had failed in some way and it was a common fault, then this no-criminality inquest would be a good way of exposing the problem and fixing it. But because it turns out he's just a dickhead who lied about his health problems and ended up killing six people, it looks like a joke.

Last night cycling north on A202 past Oval, deliberately not using the unfinished cycle lane. Not much traffic, comfortably riding in secondary with plenty of room for cars, but still I hear the delightful sound of a car horn behind me. Turn round to see a driver vigorously pointing into the cycle lane (which at this point is largely obstructed by those orange plastic fences) with one hand, and in the other holding his unlocked mobile which is illuminating his face. Calmly did the 'put the phone down' motion, didn't hear from him again.

No criminal intent at the time apparently. Because little white lie's to the DVLA and your employer about blacking out behind the wheel of a 10 ton metal box don't count of criminal intent, I mean, it's only driving, it's not like anybody going to fucking die is it.

So, if I fail to mention my psychotic vigilante tendencies when I apply to purchase a firearm and then go on a crazy killing spree of all these cunts that basically deserve it, I'm ok, yeah? Totes legal bro?

It'll be interesting to see if she'll get a custodial sentence, you'd fucking hope so wouldn't you.
-
• #6441
It'll be interesting to see what type of driving ban she'll get. A lifetime ban would be sensible but I'd be surprised if it's longer than 5 years.

More like a parenting ban, Pyne had four kids in the car and used it as a demolition derby battering ram, she was so cross she thought to herself "You're not getting away with THIS" and smacked up two tons of car so badly its blood runs in the gutter.

Mental isn't it. I had to explain to an Amazon delivery driver (I didn't catch his reg number) the other morning that me shaking by my head when he nearly pulled out from a side street into me on the main carriageway didn't mean he could drive aggressively behind me and then dangerously overtake me even when I was riding at 25mph in a 20mph zone (hackney). He didn't seem to think using a couple of tons as a weapon was a problem.

I think I spent more time stopped on the side of the road, emailing myself car registration numbers of cunts, than I spent riding this past weekend.
I actually got so fed up with arsehole moves I went home early and did the final hour on a turbo trainer.
I'd like to take this opportunity to say FUCK YOU to any of the cunts I encountered.

Minibus LX55 JOV - reported on Roadsafe.
Driver was doing about 15mph down a clear bus lane on the A1, causing a tailback of cyclists. As a few (including myself) attempted to get around him he veered right out of the cycle lane - although at least he had the good grace to indicate as he pushed me into oncoming traffic.
I got in front of him and he did a bizarre cut-up manoeuvre to get himself back into the bus lane, and proceeded to slow right down.
Bus full of old ladies. What a prick.

Martin Porter QC has submitted his evidence to the Transport Select Committee on their Road Traffic Law Enforcement inquiry and has replicated it on his blog, gives Surrey Police, Roadsafe, and the Met a kicking: http://thecyclingsilk.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/my-evidence-to-commons-transport-select.html

Apropos of the above, there is also some fabulously mad stuff submitted by the UK's famous Keith Peat of the "Driver's Union", and I thoroughly recommend having a look through it if you fancy a bit of Friday Facepalm.
My favourite bit is:
It is appalling that the Select Committee listened to three pro cycling witnesses, two with financial vested interests in their evidence and without asking ‘Why must we have cyclists?’, awarded the Cycling Lobby £650,000,000 per annum when 99% of the public know that cycling, which cannot sustain society, isn’t a viable transport mode.

Impressed that he managed to get through a classic cunt HGV tale without calling anyone a cunt - bravo.

I enjoyed:
4(ii) The definition of road cycling is as follows: To place oneself, off the ground on a slender frame and flimsy wheels, travelling at unnatural speed, and mixing, mingling, competing with and impeding large moving essential machinery, operated by complete strangers of varying skill and mental capacity.
That last bit is pretty good...
ha! it looked like a 'cyclists stay back' sticker in that first pic. good luck getting this arse to the front of the job center queue.
