Camping holiday with a kid friendly day/2day cycle or even just teaching them utility cycling so we are camping but need/want to cycle to the shops and somewhere to get lunch. Camel trail came to mind as I remember reading it's ex-railway so flat. Might look up new forest bike rentals as I remember camping that way before and it was ok.

Camel trail is nice, so is the Tarka trail for similar Devonian cycling - camping around both is excellent. Same vibe, and possibly easier transport links, would be the Peaks. Tissington trail and Monsal Trail are both lovely, mostly flat (old railway lines) but views are amazing - a couple of great viaduct sections that should get everyone excited. Really well kitted out with bike hire places and cafes along the routes. Never camped there, but saw loads of lovely campsites when I cycled through...
Do you want a kid-friendly cycle-camping holiday (so an a-b route carrying all your stuff and camping along the way) or a camping holiday with good kid-friendly cycling in the vicinity?
