I would;
- cheap ebay schwalbes
- keep the chainset
- switch the back brake to a matching mini v and use decent road levers (Cane Creek or Trp if you can't find something used. I don't think Tektro still make any nice levers)
You're a bit limited with for dropbars with the quill stem. PlanetX sell ITM etc under 'Retro', so long as they're wide they'll do.

Cheers for the help,
Do those Rocket Rons only come in 35c? I don't think i'll have enough clearance to run much over 30c.
The chainset is functional but i'd quite like a road one over this, I might gear up slightly aswell so will be buying a new ring anyway.
I've got some Deda Piega's in a quill stem already but they are only 38cm, gonna go up to 44's if I can find any.Has anyone got any recommendations for mini v's and road levers that work well together? Or canti's and levers that are worth considering?
Collected this from Eyebrows this morning.
The urge to keep it in this set up was strong but it will be going back to its CX roots (but remaining singlespeed).
I've removed the rack and swapped the front wheel for an old campagnolo/open pro wheel I found in the shed. I've had a quick go at giving it a clean but it's never going to be pretty.
I'm thinking of going for tektro canti's and levers, deda compact drops. Need suggestions for tyres and I'm on the look out for some cheap cranks if anyone has anything?
