Just because its a race bike doesnt mean they won't ever be needed? For marginal weight/aesthetics penalty it seems silly given how much this wouldve cost

My track bike doesn't have bottle bosses either. Deal with it. Etc.

Hmmm. Kinda. It didn't have bosses until its refurb. I did Roubaix on it with @umop3pisdn 's saddle mounted bottle carrier which only partially destroyed itself by the Carrefour section
