Update to this. Apparently it's not the solicitor that's slowed things up. It's the estate agent who is merging with another local company and so, since our offer was accepted, have basically not progressed it (apart from sending out the memorandum of sale with the wrong details on it three times). They say they likely won't have any news before the 15th which means it's not really practical for me to give my 30 days notice on tenancy which means another month of exorbitant rent.
Is there any way to progress a sale without using these utter fuckwits? i.e. just between solicitors and vendor?
