  • I'm looking for a holiday destination for Novemberish and struggling. Any suggestions?

Wish list (in no particular order):

    • sub 3hr flight
    • inexpensive
    • suitable for veggies (ie Italy is good, Spain / Portugal aren't)
    • ok weather - i.e. walm or clear blue skies rather than torrential rain
    • City or city and outdoors or beach (i.e. no 100% outdoors)

...and not the following countries / cities:

    • Venice
    • Portugal (an excellent destination I recommend to everyone)
    • Spain
    • France
    • Copenhagen
    • Berlin
    • Munich

I'd really like to go to one of the scandi countries but is it possible to do any of them cheaply as a grown up couple? Northern Lights would be amazing, but I guess that means Norway and beaucoup bucks?

    Cheers.

  • You can see the northern lights from the north coast of scotland, but you've ruined everything by saying you don't want to be outdoors and you don't want rain.

  • Ha!

Well I went to Iceland and managed to not see the northern lights due to shit weather, so I'm well aware that chances are low. It ended up ruining the holiday... mainly because my reasonable ex decided it was my fault and had a massive fight with me.

Outdoors is fine, but it really needs to be outdoorsy AND city, rather than solely an out doors holiday. I guess Scotland and then down to Edinburgh is an option.

@spiderpie - that's not a bad shout. Just worried the flight might be a bit long.
