So, ad blocking on android...
The options aren't great. At all. AbBlock Browser doesn't work as nicely as chrome and is noticeably slower. Firefox works with adblock extensions but its UI is not that nice and it's generally quite bloated / not as smooth as chrome.
AdAway requires root, which I'd rather not do.
There must be a more elegant solution...
