Has anyone had any succcess unbricking a kindle 4? I've been given one one that gets half way through booting and then hangs. You see the boy-reading-under-tree screen and the progress bar just sits at half way. Aparrently it was applying an update when the battery died so it must be a software issue and therefore it must be possible to fix.
I've tried using the Kubrick bootable usb stick which failed, and also tried manually follwing this guide with no luck.
If I can't get this one working then I'll be looking to replace the screen on my Kindle Keyboard - anyone done this, and was it difficult?
