I pass two MGC coupe's on my way to work (and back again) each day, I like the look of those, but of course have no idea how they drive compared to the four-pot.
Much worse. And the B isn't any good to start with.
Elan +2 is what is needed here.

I can get a rust free low miles MPI for 8 grand. Or a more used rust-free Japanese import for about 5 - 6.
Nuts to Vtecs and stupid big arches. Minis look best with narrow 10 or 12 inch wheels.
A series engines are fine. But if I was swapping for something else it would be a Nissan CG13DE. Descended from a licence-built A series, it's even still 1275cc and fits with no bodywork mods. Good for a reliable 100bhp without the cat, and the nice 5 speed hooks up to the Mini remote change too. -

I've always fancied a Rover P5 Coupe. Surely there is someone about who could fit modern suspension and brakes...

There was one on Retro Rides with a Lexus V8. The builder called it the Rolex.
I wish I hadn't just seen this:

Not worth the lumps in the bonnet. Get a v8 instead.

Can the venerable Rover (nee Buick) V8 be made to sound like this?

Alfa gtv? Or one of the 60/70s fiat coupes, esp the larger one with the more exotic motors and rear glass in them. Gues similar as the alfa car but less money as not an alfa?
Got a hankering for a tiny revvy underpowered coupe thing. Nearly had two a few years back, really tidy barn finds but both highly likely stolen from Lebanon of all places!

Few weekends swapping everything over from rusty car to new car.
