Agreed a top course. The gravel up to the big house was a bit cruel though .really well organised and even had a marching band .
I tend to do nearest to me and not any particular league, but central mostly.
It seems to be getting really popular, last week in the wessex 50V plus there were over 85 starters.enter code here

Not my photos, lifted from the comic.

Great pics, looks like a fun course!

Halton is the best course around I think. Ripping the valve off my rear tub miles from the pits on the 2nd lap was rather frustrating though.

Agreed and very well organised too.
I rolled a tub on second lap, along with several others.
A lot of grip and mud tyres,it would have been the time for file treads if I had any.

SUPERCROOOOSS !
Have you ridden a normal race + the fun race before ? Did you die ? -
• #3658
£15 I nearly got a massive fatal coronary.

Not done it but reckon there would be enough time between the two to get away without ending up dead.
If anyone is going to be coming up to Halifax, registration for the YCCA is free and you can contribute to the War of the Roses battle going on. Yorkshire obviously more awesome than the North West.

This Sunday, Herne Hill.

How "fun" is the fun race? Fine for beginners?
I am always suspicious of the word "fun".

The fun race features tequila and a foam cannon, so pretty lol-worthy actually.

Excellent, lanterne rouge position is all mine.

• #3665
Excellent, that does sound like actual fun - I'm in!

Sadly going to miss round 4. Lucky for me that round 3 is rescheduled, as I would have missed that as well.

Is the maximum length of the King Cross Supercross 30 mins? Pretty unusual age group splits too
-
• #3668
That's a bit weird. Suggests that they're running a fairly short course which I thought might happen given the size of the venue.

in for the 23-29 cat, guess it gives me another reason to try to stop smoking

I reckon it'll be more of a steeplechase or hurdle-crit than a cross race, interesting but will likely try and find a muddy alternative.
-
• #3671
hurdle crit sounds good to me

I think a BMX might do quite well at this, bring your own kicker

haha, my friend just text me to say the same thing

You looked to be going well given our gridding, or lack of, too. Not a week of cyclocross-related luck for you. Herne Hill this weekend, what can possibly go wrong.

Isn't Herne Hill where derailleurs go to die?
Nice photos, maybe I'll get a place and give it a go next year.
I rode the Central League at RAF Halton yesterday. Amazing course, probably the best I've ridden, though others play more to my strengths. Legs didn't really feel like they had any snap so I spent most of the race failing to make any headway into a 20 second gap. Still a fourth, and I managed to avoid rolling a tub, which half of the field didn't seem to do.
