Carbon + wider tyres definitely soak up bumps better.
What's the width of those tyres like? There wasn't enough clearance at the chainstay to be safe on my Supersix with 25 mm Pro 4. Had to switch to a 23 mm tyre.

What wheels have you got on? I noticed that most of the builds with 25's on have wider rims

Don't have anything to measure them, but there is a little bit of room left both front and back. Just using Open Pave CG 25mm on the stock Mavic Aksium S wheels. Not sure if there'd be much space at all left if I mounted them on a wide rim.
