Easton EC90 XC rims were 20/24... EDIT: Turns out the 26er version is 20h, 29er is 24h

The rims need to be designed for the forces of disc brakes, otherwise I could see the spokes just pulling through.

Didn't see he'd mentioned rims. Most info on 20h CX disc builds seems to focus on carbon rims anyway, assume they're reinforced by default (e.g. Reynolds originally releasing their Assault disc wheelset with brake surfaces...)
