  • be careful what you wish for, after optimistic starts, you've come for the head of all your previous managers, might be a time to hold fire on the nuclear option, and ask apart from Klopp/Ancelotti, are there any better managers out there, who would want to come to Liverpool?

  • Dean, who is an atrocious referee and failed to award two clear penalties on Saturday, is not demoted. He is refereeing the West Ham game.

  • ^^ Oh hai!

  • He's now written more books than the Bronte sisters.

A @Chalfie stat of the day contender.

  • Costa was ALWAYS going to get a ban.
I think he's an effing cee. However, he's not technically done anything wrong (from the viewpoint of the refereeing team, at the time of the match).
HOWEVER. That is fucking lawyer talk, technically, in the view of, at the time of.

Anyone with half a brain can see he's running around causing trouble on the pitch. He's an ice hockey goon.

  • I think his own team mate summarised what he is.

  • Ah. But that was misinterpreted. When he said "cheat", he meant it in French. Or something.
    #morelaywertalk

  • I think I preferred goal 4.

  • Costa. He's just the best at being dirty and, mostly, getting away with it.

    Modern ugly (beautiful) game, innit.

I see it in our 5-a-side league, players calling for everything (even when it was obvious it went out off them), shirt grabbing, etc.

  • And that's great isn't it?

  • My brother hoiked his son off from matches if he saw him diving/whining/being a petulant shit.

  • And that's great isn't it?

Nope, but it's unlikely to change unless the FA (via UEFA or FIFA) started to bother doing something about it. If they don't then it's tacit acceptance that it's ok and people just have to get used to it.

I much prefer playing football to watching it. At least I'm in a position to do a little more about it when playing.

  • My uncle was refereeing his sons school match and straight red carded him for a foul. It didn't go down well. He didn't speak to his Dad for a week :)
I was listening to 606 after the Costa incident and someone rang up and took Savage to task over his failure to condemn the twat.
Hopefully he'll fuck off at the end of this season and someone else can take on the hate figure mantle.

  • In that respect, I miss Suarez.

  • So, @cliveo, as a maximum official representative Chelsea supporter fan club, can you drop an epilogue on the Costa case, possibly stating what did you learn this time from this episode?

    (don't worry about the rascals)

  • We all miss Suarez Andy

  • Especially Brenda.

marcom. We said all there was to say on Monday evening.

  • It's nice to see him playing with some decent players these days.

  • I'm listening to you in my kitchen. All my dreams have come true. Happy birthday Clive. Not sure how long I can listen to this...

  • This is the single poshest podcase I have ever listened to...and the you called rugby players tofs. Lolololololol.

Clive-your voice is like public school butter.

  • "At least my mum wasn't an actress in coronation Street".

Clive, I like you but this podcast is insufferable. Humour shaped in the dorm room based on looking down the nose.

  • This NLD better kick the fuck off
