Someone posted a link in owning your home thread (or somewhere) for a man van service started by ex-convicts, google isn't being kind to me, can anyone remember?

this is a joke right....?!
helping loading a van of all your worldly possessions to be driven off out of site by people who have previous form for nicking stuff...?
I suppose at least they are probably going to take care of it on the way out to protect market value as much as possible...

What do you call the sheets of metal/OSB that are put over windows of buildings to make them really uninhabitable for squatters and prevent people breaking the windows etc.? Or the act of doing that, rather than the bits of material. They aren't shutters, because they aren't intended to be openable. I'm sure it must be obvious, but I'm having word/brain blank.

Boarding?

... yeah that'll do.
knew it was obvious.
thanks! -

They only list 1 1/8 on their website. Might have to call them.
Thanks though.

You clearly don't believe in rehabilitation of offenders then?
Do you not think that a) they might want to reform and b) have a reputation that is now worth protecting?
-
• #71060
@Amey I think @stevo_com has the details.
-
• #71061
What if they weren't inside for nicking stuff anyway, just something harmless like being on the radio in the 70s?
-
• #71062
perhaps I'm being a little harsh, but it isn't the most obvious choice for ex offenders though is it, particularly given that re-offense rates in the UK sit at over 45% within 12 months of release....

Got the link thanks to @stevo_com @Chalfie
Its these guys: http://www.allinallremovals.com/
Our usual movers are busy on the day so going to give these guys a try.
-
• #71064
What do you mean by this?
That we should be sceptical because this isn't an obvious choice for them?
That we should be critical because they're not conforming to stereotype?I R confused.

These guys unfortunately let me down on the day by double booking themselves so I have no other experience than dealing with them on the phone and that they arranged for another company to come and do the job on the same day for the same cost.
It's not just that they might be ex offenders, they were young people in a very horrible place at one point who without the help of a certain niw closed charity, could well be inside today or doing something that contributes slightly less to society. For that I would happily book them again.

swapping a square taper bb for hollowtech and there's 2 x 1mm spacers on the driveside cup, do these need putting back on with the new bb?
-
• #71069
Not if it's a road HT BB.
-
• #71070
thanks, it is.

I haz 285mm bb height with 170mm cranks.. I'm fine right?
-
• #71072
I'm fine right?
I doubt it, their rules don't make sense. They take no account of Q factor or pedal design to gauge the true amount of clearance, so they're stuck with rigidly applying the two rules they have and hoping the other factors still keep your pedals out of their precious planks.

The looks I've got when searching for the same part were quite funny. I think the guy in Cycle Surgery thought I was Tolkien dork.
Fitzrovia or Brixton might be worth a call.

Like not crashing or tyre choice?

Just getting a new telly (can't read the Rugby scores on our old 28" non-widescreen CRT). Nothing special, just a 32" LG Full-HD (non-Smart) TV.
For recording programs, is BT TV (the £5 Essential pack, don't have BT Infinity in my area yet) worth it?
I know a PVR might be better, but BT TV seems a cheaper option (both short term and long term).
Is there anywhere in central London where I can get a 3/32 half link?
