A bit late, but @Stonehedge on Friday evening at the Hampton Street cut-through to Newington Butts, then not 20 minutes later, @cornelius_blackfoot on Lavender Hill, riding the wrong bike to skid on!

Aha...so it was you! Sorry mate, didn't have enough time to identify you through the beard. Nice and precise exchange of nods though.
I spotted a forum cap on Rodney Place heading towards the New Kent Road at about 7.45 this morning. You were too far away to ID. Goldish-metallic paintjob and mud guards? Best I can do...

The Penton Street party is getting a bit out of hand these days. I lost @bitterbuffalo mid conversation while trying to navigate through the melee.
To be fair, everyone was very well behaved (possibly except me), but the number of cyclists that congregate on that stretch keeps rising and rising. Probably time something was done to reduce the number of cars on that road as they just get in the way and slow everyone down.

No worries man, beard is fairly new! Always nice exchanging knowing nods regardless!

A great big bushy beard and forum jersey on Tower Bridge Road and up through Aldgate riding a nice black fixed/riser/basket build. Would have said something but was just behind you for most the way and feeling that Monday awkward.

Keep seeing the same dude at the lights in Angel each day at 6pm. Seems to have multiple fixed bikes, all quite nice.

@middleofnowhere I actually got assaulted by a driver after I saw you.
A van driver was in the cycle space at the front of the lights between Amwell and Roseburry Ave. As you noted that stretch is really busy now so a lot of cyclists were giving him the eyes, as in you need to give us space (he was the only veichele and could have backed up) which he would answer in turn with revving his engine. So I said, Sorry, but you do realise your in the cycle space, he got out of his van and stuck his head into mine like he was a sunday league Diego Costa or something. Called me a cunt a few times. Then did it to the lady stood next to me. STUPIDLY, I didn't get his plates as I was little shaken up. Did anyone on here see this, now feel like I should have got the guys plates and reported him.

That'll be me as well! I always feel weird tailing people who might be "on here" - never quite know what to say when you pass them...

Yes that is a new beard - I feel like I would have recognised you earlier! I did shoot out in front of you when we were stopped at the top of the Minories tho. Maybe not my best move but I was late.
If you have Forum Paraphernalia then it's easy to be like 'hey hey we are both internet warriors!' but if not it's just like 'hello stranger I'm singling you out for conversation' which often returns a very quick Do-Not-Want expression.
-
• #72111
Ha! I was kicking myself I didn't make the same move - I was waiting about a minute longer waiting for a gap!

Did the van have a company name on it? Might be worth an email to the company if you can recall it.
Bike boxes like that one can be a bit of an arse. Even without cars impinging it tends to fill up very quickly and yet the newly arriving cyclists still try and force their way in. I will often sit a few cars back in the queue to stay out that crush.

that was me, no skid as I was busy trying to filter down through the clusterfuck that is north, north london, and was also leading the way as we made our way to crouch end....
Good shout!

knew your face looked familiar,
road bike for the commute until the fixed commuter comes out of hibernation. -

in other spotting news, saw @Katie-Coo not once but twice this weekend, on the walworth road on saturday, and then outside the Ivy House on Sunday, lovely to see you both times...

Yeah I figured that much. Your reply was satisfactory tho! Something interesting always happens riding up/down Green Lanes, and is generally a mess. I was actually on the way to Crouch End myself but I went along Parkland walk out of Finsbury Park for the first time as an excuse to see how 28c tyres would fare on it. Lovely little jaunt that allows you to join Crouch Hill towards the top. Worth a look!

Crazy nice Van Nicholas fixed with Zipps and TT bars in the bike lockup at work (Oval). Must be on here.
Spotted @CalAmor riding my old Makino at Herne Hill on Saturday. It's nice to see its being used and actually fits.
