Surely if you aspire to lead the country, you might need to pretend to like things you're not that bothered about, so people will trust / relate to you. Maybe the Rugby is not a big deal, but there will be other things he finds distasteful, that he might have to consider being enthusiastic about later on. I wonder if he would go on Strictly.
I think the reason so many people relate to him and trust him is exactly because he doesn't pretend to like things. He seems to be himself and talk about and do what he believes, somehow this has led to people thinking he's honest and then trusting him, it's an odd concept.
