• It's not that exciting to be honest. First hack build was from 2008, so it lasted four years, but I'm not sure the PSU ever had quite enough power - at least it did for standard running but I'd overclocked it a lot mostly because the Q6600 was very overclockable.

    One day it died and there was a pop and a strong smell of burning, so after pulling the plug and letting it cool I had a look and the lead from the PSU had melted onto the motherboard which was scorched. Still not sure if it was the PSU/pushing it too hard for too long or if something just failed but didn't dare use the motherboard, memory or processor again after that happened. Had to buy new bits anyway because obviously they'd changed the processor slot again.

    My 750ti uses less power than the 8800GT which is ridiculous given the performance increase.
