Pete... I've got a very similar frame to the Croix in 931 and have had it for a good few years now. I have had it both with carbon and currently on steel forks. It weighs a lot as a complete bike, but stripped to the frame it's very light.
I don't think I would change it for anything, rides really well. Is much stiffer than a titanium frame. Wipes clean. And generally a do it all bike. The clearance on the Croix for bigger tyres is a bonus in my opinion. Only 1 thing to consider is that like mine it might have quite a high BB. I wouldn't mind mine being a bit lower - but that might be remedied by 650b...
I would say the one in classifieds is a good buy...
