Custom one day. One day...

Dunno, but we have the same thing - lack of thermostat - and just set the boiler to a temp that can make the place nice n toasty but not push the system pressure in to the red.

Where would you go (in London) to buy a chain (a jewellery chain, not a bike chain) for a man that isn't expensive (so gold's out) or horrible?
I've had the market at Spitalfields on a Thursday recommended to me but have no leave and it shuts at 5pm.
Before anyone says it, not Elizabeth Duke!

How expensive? I have no idea by the way. I don't do jewellery as a rule but everyone told us to go to Hatton Garden in Farringdon for our wedding rings. Tonnes of jewellers.

Same here, we have multiple unconnected thermostats. They don't connect to the boiler at all. We've got thermostatic valves on one radiator, the two new ones will have them.
Currently our combi boiler is on or off for the heating. I think that's getting fixed in the next month or two. -

I was thinking not more than about £30, but I don't know how realistic that is though. I know Hatton Garden is the best place to buy jewellery but I think it will be firmly out of my budget!
I'm not bothered about the material really, doesn't need to be gold or silver or anything. It's just for hanging my St Bernadine medal on (patron saint of people who work in PR and asthma sufferers, unfortunately I am afflicted with both) as my current one is too long.

You can't point me to any nice, cheap men then?

As I said, horrible and expensive is where my knowledge starts and ends.

• #71011
Ah well. I was amazed by Elizabeth Duke. You can spend £2k on one of their chains and it's only 9ct.

appx 60 degC for central heating, though some are set up to 80
myself and several colleagues have fitted honeywell evohome, it's great

Cheers, I'll take a look.
The place got pretty toasty pretty quickly with it set at 75. Will drop to 60 and see how that works out.

How much are they?

Try crack converters.

Metal Crumble in Stoke Newington?
(I've never gone there, just know it exists from riding past it.)

That Honeywell system, does it actually control the boiler or just the valves on the rads? IE. does it switch the boiler on and off to meet temp or just regulate the rad valves? Does the CH part of the boiler need to be constantly on? Excuse my ignorance.

That's like a Nest, right?
Our flat is quite small, and our boiler kinda old and crappy, so waiting for it to make its death groans before moving in to space year 2015 heating tech.

Do you need to buy it now, or could you wait a couple of days for the lovely people at Cookson Gold to post it to you? They have pretty much everything, e.g. http://www.cooksongold.com/Base-Metal/Stainless-Steel-1.6mm-Curb-Chain--1845cm-prcode-V3C-16H

No rush - thanks. They seem to be cheap as chips too. I'm currently trying to work out how they can produce a gold plated 18" chain for £1.42 inc. VAT.
I have to say although I know you are known for your chain expertise I wasn't expecting a reply from you when I asked about jewellery :)
Or @Oliver Schick for that matter (thanks Oliver)!

yes it has a boiler control module, as well as individual rad stat valves, plus room/zone stat if that's what you want - it's all in the literature.
The nice thing is the web interface & app, allowing you to turn on the heating 15 mins before you return, etc.

Surely one of the markets would have such.

I'm trying to replace the phones where I currently work. Instead of needing an rj45 socket in the wall they seem to go straight into the mains. (European mains even).
What sort of demonry is this?

Can I tap a thread into the hollow qr axle on a shimano deore hub, to just pop a bolt in instead?

Yes
function>aesthetics
Though when function fit and aesthetics align it's a wonderful thing
Hence my suggestion of new bike or custom frame
