I've had a bad experience using 23c tyres on 23mm rims (GP 4000s and Racing 5 LG). Misjudged a hop up a curb with the back wheel, going very slowly as coming to a stop. Huge bang/crack and the tyre has 2 gashes in it and the rim is dented beyond repair. Can't help but feel with a wider tyre or narrower rim this wouldn't have happened, as a bit of protection to the rim edge? My own fault but annoying, as pretty much brand new wheel and tyre trashed. And Fulcrum rims are hard to come by, as are individual wheels.
