Perhaps, I wasn't told. Heard Max lugs are pretty weighty so I went TIG. Fillet was more euros but doesn't really add anything other than weight and aesthetics.

What's the going rate for a Max Rychtarski frame?
-
• #29
It is very hard to have a price list for custom made frames... Let me say that the price for steel
frame from Columbus CROMOR painted with one color starts from 700 euro.
For Columbus Zona, Life, SL frame the price is 750 euro
For Columbus Spirit, MAX frame the price is 800 euro.
Filet brazed cost 100 more. -

I just liked the looks of max lugs, thats about it. That said, i recently saw fillet brazed max frame and it was pretty too...I also read somewhere that atleast the bb lug weighs a ton, but we'll see after i receive the frame. Will post results.

I think a downtube decal is supposed to be slightly off the middle as the cranks take some visual space from the bottom part of the downtube

Yep, I wrote him but he told me to send the frame back to Poland which for me isn't an answer.
His solution should be to rebuild me a frame. I don't want a bodge job. Currently using a Polish colleague to very helpfully translate messages! Took him a few weeks to get back to me about it too, only once I'd emailed him in Polish...
Fair enough Re the lack of guard mounts! I really like my V Brakes on my cross check - just shit cheap Tektro ones at the moment as well and there's nothing wrong with them.
Andy - don't really want Force 1.
pace - is that a make belief thing like an inverse shim? If not, please may you link me? Been trying to find something that would mean I don't have to have the frame modified.
I haven't made a huge huge deal out of it cause he filleted it without me asking to but charged me the same as a TIG'd frame. That said - I'd have been happy with TIG. I like TIG.

I've got a frame from both Orlo and Rych and my experience in dealing with inconsistensies is that mr Orlowski is a bit more fair / professional.

Hopefully one of these will work

Thanks pace. Will that differ greatly from one of these?
Cause that's what I have atm. The only difference is that the M:Part one is slightly lower profile so could potentially be mounted lower down (underneath the bottle boss holes...) Anyway, I've derailed this thread enough :-)

Maybe something slim like above could work and you could even put the clamp between the holes? Like this:

like it turning up in 53cm square?

King cage works fine with Shimano clamp.

Unless I've misunderstood your problem, you should be all sorted with some space outs or similar: http://problemsolversbike.com/products/spaceouts

+1 for King Cages.
-

Have King cages. The problem is that the derailleur hanger physically covers one of the bolt holes...
Perhaps I'll just buy a few clamps and see which one allows me to mount it in between the holes, rather than over one of the holes. I suppose my problem with the whole thing is that this is a normal sized bike. It's not tiny. This shouldn't have been an issue...

physically covers one of the bolt holes...
What? That's just weird. I'd send it back.
-

Tell me aboot it. Well, for use with compact cranks and for the derailleur to be in the correct position, with the specific clamp I have, it covers the hole. So really it's lots of factors equating to an annoying scenario but I'll try to find a way around it. Maybe it's finally time to move up to 52/36 so that my derailleur clamp is higher up, ha.

Or go cx 46/36, and clamp lower down.

Here we be. He didn't supply any of the bolts, so gotta order them from somewhere (had extra bottle cage screws in parts bin). Sprayed innards with frame saver, gonna measure and chop the steerer next.
e: bolts sorted, thank you sjscycles
lugs were cheaper option I think?
