Unfortunately it doesn't really matter if he's screwing you or not. Paypal will refund his money if you don't and you'll end up with negative feedback. Sadly the only way to handle these cases is suck it up. The best you can hope for is that it's easy to fix the problem yourself and you handle the customer well enough not to get a black mark.
