Yeah, I've never actually ridden steel, only alloy so it would be nice to have a fancy steel frame but then it is a year round commuter so doesn't need to be mega fancy... Again, it's the heart vs the head. Normally with me the head wins but I may make an acception for the genesis. Just want the damn thing to be released...

As the owner of a genesis, and having ridden my share of alu frames, also having gone for the genesis over the arkose (same spec/~£500 cheaper) I would say it's worth the extra. Having just done 8-900 miles tour on the genesis, I can't fault it. Such a good bike.
Buying frameset you do get within striking distance of a Rychtarski custom build, which would be more desirable , and use fancier tubing, but I have no regrets about getting the genesis.
