The apple pen is like one of those parody products. The hyperbole. The price. For a stylus, that should of been left in the 90's.

Such lolz. Without being a fanboy, that's what Apple have always done, never be the first, but the first at doing it best. With added design and PR.

On the contrary, it appeals to me as I'm starting to think about upgrading my Air. I'll need to wait till it's out, but if it has enough juice to do basic photo editing, and works like an wacom tablet I'm sold.

^ I was tempted at first glance, almost returned my barely 1 week old air and wait for that until I saw he price tag. My concern is like any other products with Apple, the 1st gen is alwasy over priced and under specs etc... maybe next year for me...
Still Sat can't come fast enough.

It's not really first gen tho, is it? It's a new size but is what, their 7th or 8th iPad.
-
• #8434
I might take the opportunity to upgrade from my first gen iPad mini to the latest one, if I'm honest really just to get the finger print reader as I keep holding my thumb on the current ones start button, wondering why it's not working.

ha!

• #8436
It is in a way though, with some of the apps 'specially' developed for it. And that Pencil? I mean does that even work with a normal iPad?
-
• #8437
No, the pencil doesn't work on any of the other iPads. I suspect they'll update them in due course.
Also, why the fuck is the 16gb iPhone still around? Good luck filming all those 4k videos for 180 seconds...

Also, why the fuck is the 16gb iPhone still around?
For people like me that just want a reasonable phone, don't care about music storage, and with the ability to take photos and the odd video which gets copied off within a week or so.
I only just bought a second hand iPhone 5 (16GB) for ~£100 from eBay (1 year warranty etc).
I still have a CRT TV so all this HD/1080/4K stuff is overkill for me.

16GB sticks cost about 1p. The 16gb phones can do one. 32gb should be base and 128 not that much more. Money grabbing move that...
-
• #8440
4k is overkill for everyone for an awfully long time. And I say this as a video professional who gets the stuff shoved at him from time to time.
-
• #8441
work phone is iphone 5c, didn't think they made 6gb phones, but this one is that small, constantly telling me it has no storage capacity.
ballache... -
• #8442
iPhone 6s and 6s plus come with 2GB RAM, iPad pro is 4GB RAM which is really great!!
-
• #8443
That is pretty good actually. It says something about the software that they've been getting by with 1gb and under for this long...
-
• #8444
16gb makes even less sense with a 4K video recorder. Literally anyone is gonna fill that fucker up in a matter of weeks. 4K vids are huge
-
• #8445
On a slightly different note, anyone noticed the iPhone 6 and 6plus have a slight price drop and gold is no longer available. Just in case anyone interested.
-
• #8446
Think I have just bagged myslef an iPhone 6s Plus... order went through fine but history suggests that doesn't necessarily mean anything...

Hey peeps, I need some advice. I sold my used MacBook Pro on eBay Monday which worked perfect for 4 years. The buyer just requested a refund claiming it is defective. I never had an issue with it and now 5 days after selling he claims there is an issue with the logic board. Am I being screwed? Is it possible he switched out some parts?

is it a 2011 model?
https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/
And the 3 beeps mentioned suggests to me it's a ram issue rather than logic board. Anyhow, I can't tell if you are being screwed or not as I tend to think people are honest. However, if your Mac is one of those models indicated in the link above, then suggest to the buyer to get it fixed for free and maybe give the a small refund as a 'good will of gesture' or something.
Another thing is have you taken a good look at the buyer's reviews (left by others)? Sometimes it can give you some clue, if they have been buying batteries, stickers and extreme cheap items and this is the 1st expensive purchase, then it might be fishy, but if they have been buying electrical items etc and have been fine, it might just be a coincident.
That said, a mate of mine have been offered money to buy off his good ebay account, so...
(sorry I haven't actually said anything useful...)

Yeah. 13 inch, early 2011.
-
• #8450
But mine was a 13 inch, not the 15 or 17 listed.
Relevant comic (from three years ago)… :)
