I don't think pdw will work. My tyres are 25 wide.
Shame. Other options are not very good. -

Annoying, don't think they'll work. Don't really want to go back to23 tyres.

Back in the days, my PDW worked quite nicely, a tad tight but 25mm durano plus worked nevertheless.

Plenty people running 25mm tyres under them, 28 possible in some cases

I'm struggling a little with 25's. Its fine everywhere aside from the brake mount on the front, I've got Campy Record brakes old style and the clearance between the brake arms and the mudguard is very tight.

Right going to give it a go! Thanks.

I would like some used PDW for 28-30c tires if anybody feels like selling...

They aren't any harder than sks in my opinion.

Very true.

Fair bit more complicated than SKS imo; just make sure you've set aside an evening and imbibed not more than a couple of drinks.

Can confirm PDW fit my CAAD10 with 26 wide tyres. Just, but fine.

I think my Supersix isn't going to manage with PDWs, 25c on wide rims and a dinky frame means I'm not going to splash out on £70 mudguards on the off-chance they don't fit...
a) is anyone else getting rid of some PDWs second hand so I can try them out?
b) what are my other options for full coverage and tight clearance?c) has anyone tried covering their guards in that 3M reflective paint that Volvo put out? Seems like it would be a fun idea.

Frame size shouldn't make a difference, is it?
If they fit on CAAD10 should fit on supersix.

Will they fit Open Pave 27c?
-
• #1669
Maybe.
My open pave 27 measure at 28 (interestingly my open pave 25 measure at 27, so open pave 25 are better as 25 have the same amount of tread as 27). The PDW are 30 wide. So you could possibly fit them over the open pave, but if the cover would be effective I'm not sure. Would depend on your frame and bodgeability.

Thank you, like @Mechamorgan I'd rather not buy 70gbp guards to sell them on if they do not fit ;-(

sks bluemels narrow version?

Picked up some pdw 2nd off someone here. I don't like the stays (that box thing is weird) and I don't like the look of them. Has anybody had much success in painting them (I'd have to remove the mudflaps, paint, and re-rivet), hacking the fixings, etc? Interested to know if they can be used to make something nice looking.

I will give them a go first. Thanks.

I stuck some scruffy old bluemels on my bike and jazzed them up a bit
