Knocked off last night by the driver of an Addison Lee wagon. Police ANPR Interceptor was six feet away. They pulled him.
I thought my pannier was broken, so he gave me eighty quid. Found out later that the part to replace it cost eight quid. Went out for dinner.
Left the guy being nicked for invalidating his insurance by taking his family in the back, and carrying a baby without a child seat. He had a bad day, all in.
An 'oh shit' moment for me as he turned across me, and a longer, more drawn-out 'oh shit' moment for him as the copper opened his rear door.

Much swindled. So trust.

To prove the yin-yang thing - someone hit my rear wheel a couple of days ago and bent it a bit, I estimated a replacement would be £50, he gave me £60, the replacement actually cost £65. I didn't go out for dinner.

Yeah, true. Not intentional though - a new pannier would actually have been a hundred quid, which I asked him for and he bartered me back.

Ha! Right, does anyone know anything I can do it on my iPad with? My laptop has died, and I don't dare put my childish scrawlings on my wife's laptop!
Fuck it....I got a good app, but am really shit at it.

Had two today.
1.Countryside Oxford. Somewhere outside Garsington, down hill, over little bridge and car in front slams brakes on, I go round the outside hard on the brakes, and there's another car.- Back in Oxford Overtook a bus which was apparently letting someone else out.
Both my fault, and good enough to scare me into not being such an idiot.

John Cleese invented that.

Last Thursday I was forced to crash into an old lady's car (stationary oncoming traffic) because an L plate moped with both legs on one side and on his phone, dropped his phone and swerved straight into me. He stopped to pick up his phone and fled as quickly as he could. Meanwhile I tried to keep one leg clipped in as I few over the bonnet and into the windscreen breaking it. I didn't fancy my carbon tarck bike cracking. Luckily I was completely fine and I didn't go all the way through so although the old lady was shaken up she was ok.
Was in a massive rush so only stopped for 10 mins to help the old lady, calm her down and explain to her what she needs to do as well as sending her pictures and witness details (she couldn't figure it out so I just paid the discounted rate for a windscreen replacement this morning as it's less effort than chasing her insurance for her as she seemed like she couldn't do it alone).
Then, about 200m down the road, literally seconds after I started riding again, a woman on her phone realises she's missed her turn and turns right, crashing into another car. In a normal situation I would have been between the two cars as one was turning right and the other going straight. But I was wary of the woman's driving and stayed back. In hindsight it was a very good call to stay back :)
I was so annoyed with the past 15 minutes, I just over took them and left them to sort it out. I laughed at my bad luck (or good luck) as I rode on.
Funny thing is I was 2 days away from the 2nd anniversary of my first and only crash.

Glad you're ok :-)

You know that thing you hear about when someone servicing their fixed drive train loses concentration and also the end of their finger?
Oh Shit! (me last night)
I'm so pissed off with myself, but big thanks to the fantastic NHS once again.

:(
I recall a post of somebody else on here doing the same...with Indra'd finger pic (yum)
All ok, as in, will heal up OK?
-
• #4292
Ouch, heal fast. I've got a friend who lost the top of a finger when servicing his disc brakes. Not nice.
-
• #4293
Oh God thinking about doing this makes me so queasy, how's it looking now?
-
• #4294
I don't have the strongest constitution, so haven't been brave enough to look properly. According to the plastic surgeon, the nail was cut clean in half and the force of it clean snapped the bone at the tip of the finger. So I'm gonna hazard a guess and say 'not pretty'.

It'll heal ok though.

I'm glad you're not dead. Please don't post any photographs.

Wondering where to post about my first ever coming together with a motorised vehicle. I got knocked off by a bus on Friday night, the "oh shit" came when I realised shoulder checking it doesn't work the same as shoulder checking someone at polo. Couple of grazes and achey foot, scratched pedal and bar end. Kinda annoyed stagecoach haven't emailed me back today.

Forum rider down thread is the place to post, I guess.
Sounds shit, hope you're not too banged up. Did you get any useful details?

I'm fine, hurt myself more all the time. I laughed it off and wanted to get to the next pub. My boss went a bit nuts at the driver though so I dragged him off and forgot to get a photo. Think the driver pressed his "there is a scary man shouting at me" button so hoping the lovely people at stagecoach (assuming it was their bus) will know what happened from that and it's cctv, although they'll probably ignore me until they've deleated any footage.

I was also pretty shitfaced at the time so didn't post in forum rider down, although it was all the close passing buses fault.
Ha!
Cheers guys, but I really wish I had a gopro on.....a drawing wouldn't suffice :0)
